And the Award goes to...

I'm very happy to announce that I've won the 'Green Champion' Award at the Oman Green Awards for 'The Little Green Guide' and other related environmental activities. The award ceremony was held on
June 12, 2010 in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. (http://omangreenawards.com/winners_category_green_campion.html)

I'm really glad that my efforts have been recognised. The true award, of course, is the cause itself. I'm sure I can do a lot more and that this is just the beginning.

A number of people have helped me and encouraged me along the way at every stage. It would have been impossible for me to have accomplished this without their support. I would like to use this space to thank each one of them:

Her Highness Tania S. Al Said (ESO)
For her words of encouragement and valuable inputs.

Nida El-Helou (ESO)
For sharing her insights on the subject and giving her inputs during the compilation of the book.

Eihab Maqbool Al Saleh (OHI Group of Companies)
For helping me get the book printed and set up the plastic recycling facility.

George Thomas (Giffin Graphics)
For helping out with the 100% recycled paper stock for the book.

R. Prabakaran, Senthil Nathan and team (Oman Printers and Stationers)
For helping out with the printing of the book.

Nandita Divakaran and Vinu George (DDB)
For helping out with the words and backing me up all the way.

Varsha Naik (DDB)
For helping me out with the recycling project (and the zillions of cartons that she has regularly supplied for this purpose!).

Radha Mukherji and Ria Mukherji (DDB)
For all the help with PR.

Badr Al-Qassabi, Salim Al-Ajmi and Mariam Al Ghafry (DDB)
For helping out with the Arabic version of the book.

Dhiyab Al Maskary (DDB)
For helping out with permissions and other legal issues.

Nilesh Ayare (DDB)
For making the Towell Calendar and Tissue Dispenser look so good.

My family
For backing me up (and putting up with all the restrictions I imposed on them with regard to recycling!).

My four-year old daughter, Mahika
For reassuring me that my efforts have not been in vain (before tossing anything into the trash, she asks if it can be recycled!).
